Where we take the figures from
Primary sources first: the shipping line’s own sales site for fares and timetables, the Comune di Procida and the Regione Campania for decrees and bans, EAV for the buses, the managing bodies for the reserves and the monuments. Then local sources and checking on the spot. Every page with verifiable figures lists at the bottom the sources it actually used.
Prices and opening times: the verification date
Prices, fares and opening times are read at the source and published with the date on which we read them. The Caremar fares you find on the site, for example, are the ones read on 09/09/2026. These are figures that change at every change of season: we recheck them periodically, we update the date when we reread them, and on every page we say to reverify on the operator’s site before you travel. The same goes for the decrees on the vehicle ban, which are reissued every year.
What we do not publish
An empty field is better than an estimate. We do not invent opening times, telephone numbers, ratings or counts: if we have no reliable source, the figure does not appear and often we write why. We do not publish price lists from companies that do not make them public. Where the sources disagree we say so openly instead of picking a number at random. Operators’ claims stay attributed to them.
How we choose restaurants, bars and hotels
On what is on the plate and in the room, not on where they rank on the portals. Public ratings we quote as such. If a place is expensive for what it offers, or table service is heavily criticised, it says so on the page.
Updates and corrections
Every page shows the date it was last updated and the name of the person who wrote it. If you find a mistake, tell us: we correct it on the page and, when the correction concerns a price or an opening time, we update the verification date too.
